Al Ahly`s record in the semifinal

CAIRO – 22 October 2017: Al Ahly has qualified to the CAF Champions League final 10 times while it was eliminated three times.

The 1988 edition was the only time Al Ahly had lost the semifinals in front of their fans when they faced ES Setif and lost 2-0 in Algeria before returning and winning in Cairo with the same result, but was dismissed from the tournament by a penalty shootout.

Al-Ahly faces Tunisian club Etoile du Sahel on Sunday night at the second leg match of the CAF Champions League semifinal at Borg al-Arab stadium in Alexandria. The game starts at 7:30 p.m. (CLT).

Al-Ahly players hope to win this match in order to qualify to the finals as the team lost the first leg in Tunisia (2-1). Around 60,000 fans are waiting to support Al-Ahly in this game.
